What the common redemption errors mean and how to check each one.
An activated Muse account and a code you have not used yet.
Tell whether the problem is the code or the account, and what to do next.
Bottom line: when you see "invalid", rule out three things in order — (1) the code has hit its redemption limit, (2) a character was mistyped or the paste carried a space or wrong case, (3) the account already redeemed once (one code per account). Most "invalid" errors are the first two and have nothing to do with your account. For reference, a code that works grants each side roughly 1B tokens (community figure; the exact number is not officially published), usable only inside the app.
What each message means
| Message | Most likely cause | First thing to do |
|---|---|---|
| Invalid / code not found | Code exhausted, or a paste added spaces or wrong case | Retype it by hand; try a different code |
| Already used | This account redeemed once before | Use a new account; this one cannot redeem again |
| Cannot find the entry | Layout changed between versions | Check the top-right 'Invite', or Settings > General |
| Redeemed but credit unchanged | Past the 48-hour window, or the page did not reload | Re-login and check; confirm you are inside the window |
Check in this order
Try a different code
If a new code works, the old one was simply exhausted.
Type it instead of pasting
Pastes often carry invisible spaces or full-width characters. Watch 0 vs O and letter case.
Confirm you never redeemed
One code per account. If you redeemed before, this account keeps saying 'already used'.
Check the window
The window starts when your account is created and runs about 48 hours. After that, that account cannot redeem.
When it really is the account
Only when a new code works elsewhere but your account cannot even open the entry, or it is stuck on the waitlist, does it look account-side. Then check the waitlist page instead of swapping codes repeatedly.
Habits that avoid repeat failures
- Change one variable at a time — the code, or the input method, not both.
- Note which code gave which message, so you can compare.
- Codes rotate; codes from old posts are often exhausted. Trust a page that shows remaining uses.
FAQ
The code is invalid but someone else says it works.
Codes have a redemption limit and may have just been used up; a paste may also have added a space. Try another code or type it by hand.
I never redeemed, yet it says 'already used'.
Check whether you have multiple accounts on the same email. Redemption is bound to the account.
Could 'invalid' be a network issue?
Usually not. Network problems show as spinning or errors, not a clear 'invalid' message.
Do case and spaces really matter?
Yes. Codes are case-sensitive, and pastes can carry invisible or full-width characters. Type it by hand.
Will a new account always redeem?
As long as it is activated, inside the 48-hour window, and the code still has uses left.

Watch out
Avoid: buying or sharing accounts, and don't hand your account to someone else to activate.
